出版を前に。
何度もご案内してきていますが、いよいよ明日、オレの本が発行になります。
三修社さんからの出版になるのですが、明日の発刊を前に、書いておこうと思いまして。
今回のブンデスリーガやドイツサッカーを題材にしたドイツ語本を出すという構想は、オレの中では3~4年前からありました。
オレ自身がドイツに渡ってきたとき、サッカードイツ語はどう頑張っても語学学校では習えず、チームメートの喋っている言葉を必死に聞いて覚えるしかありませんでした。
いわゆるスラングな表現だったり、辞書で探しても出てこないような表現だったり。
そんな現実の中で一生懸命勉強しながら覚えてきたドイ語には価値があるはず、と思ったのがきっかけです。
フォルトナで仕事をするようになり、北陸大学サッカー部の学生の夏休みの短期留学を受け入れるようになったこともあり、学生達が少しでも早くこちらのドイツ人たちとコミュニケーションが取れるようにしてあげたいとの思いから、簡単な教材の作成なども始めました。
そして個人レベルながら、徐々にそういったドイツ語サッカー用語リストが出来てきた中で、2年前に香川選手がドルトムントへやってきて、その後の選手たちも含め、日本人選手たちがブンデスリーガで大ブレイクを果たしました。
その様子を見て、これはもう、本当に需要があるんだなと確信したオレは、約1年前に、自分のブログに本の執筆を考えている旨を記しました。
すると、ブログへコメントやメールという形で、実際にこのオレの思いに興味を示してくださる出版社からの連絡が届きました。
具体的にはスポーツ系に強い出版社、旅行系に強い出版社、そしてドイツ語系に強い出版社の三修社さんでした。
その中で、いろいろな思いがありましたが、三修社さんにお世話になろうと決意した理由が3つありました。
1つは、連絡をくださった三修社の担当者さんの思いです。
「ブログを長らく見させていただいていました。私の息子もサッカーをしており(しかもオレの弟の後輩)、是非ともこの話を実現したいです」
とのメールをいただき、とても心が動かされました。
2つ目に三修社さんは、元々フドイツ語の教育系の出版が主なところ。
現在は他の言語や資格の本なども出していますが、スポーツ関係の本の出版は初めてだったそうです。
そういう初めての挑戦ってとっても魅力的だし、この出版社と一緒にどれくらいオレが勝負出来るのかが楽しみだと思いました。
そして3つ目が最大の理由。
実は7年半前、オレがドイツに渡ってくるときに、3冊くらい購入してきたドイツ語のハンドブックが三修社さんの本だったんです。
「遊んで覚える楽しいドイツ語」
これをずっと持っていたし、いろいろなフレーズが入っていて、それを一生懸命使っていたのを覚えています。
そんなオレがドイツに来てずっとお世話になってきた本の出版社さんから、逆にオファーをもらえるなんて、なんだか感涙深いじゃないですか。
オレからしてみれば、この本にお世話になり、ドイツ語がちょっとずつ出来るようになったのですから。
その出版社さんが、オレと一緒に本を作りたい、と言ってくれたんです。
そんな背景で三修社さんと一緒に仕事をさせてもらうことになりました。
内容は何度も話し合って少しずつ変更をしてきましたが、大筋はオレの主張を尊重してくれて本当に感謝しています。
また、本の中に使わせてもらっている写真の一部は、デュッセルドルフ在住の若きカメラマンである千葉さんからご提供いただきました。
オレより1~2歳若い方ですが、オレと同じようにフリーで頑張るサムライの1人です。
縁があって知り合うことが出来、ご協力いただく運びとなりました。
そしてご存知の通り、今回帯を務めてくれることになったのが、あのドルトムントで活躍し、今回マンチェスターUに移籍した香川選手。
自分で言うのもなんですが、彼に協力してもらうことが出来るというのは、本当に幸せなことだと思います。
日本代表の10番を背負い、世界最高峰のクラブへ移籍する選手が、ブンデスリーガへの熱い思いも乗せて、今回の依頼を引き受けてくれたんです。
そうやって皆さんに助けられ、支えられて、オレなんかが本を出版出来るなんて本当に嬉しいことです。
学生時代勉強なんてろくにしてこなかったオレが、読書と言えば漫画くらいだったオレが、ブログで誤字脱字をしていると親からすぐさま訂正されちゃうようなオレが、こうやって出版するんですもん。
こうやって形に残るものを作れることは、いろいろな意味で自信に繋がります。
この7年半の積み重ねの証明でもありますからね。
そんな思いの詰まった本です。
とにかく。
この一冊を持ってドイツに行こうと思ってもらえれば嬉しいです。
これだけ分かれば、ドイツに行っても楽しいかもな、って思える一冊です。
少しでも多くの人に知ってもらえて、手にとってもらえたら、嬉しいです。
